Neil James brings over 20 years of hands-on industry experience to the Landscape Irrigators Licensing Course, having built his career as both a licensed irrigator and certified backflow prevention assembly tester.
His passion for developing the next generation of irrigation professionals led him to begin training irrigators in 2012, a role he has embraced with dedication ever since.
Prior to his work in education, Neil owned and operated a successful irrigation service and repair company for 15 years, giving him a deep, practical understanding of the challenges and demands that come with running a business in the field.
He later transitioned his expertise to the public sector, accepting a position as Irrigation Superintendent with the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department, where he has proudly served the community for over a decade.
Neil’s combination of entrepreneurial experience, technical mastery, and institutional leadership makes him uniquely qualified to guide aspiring irrigators through the licensing process.
